Carabao Cup fixtures: West Ham vs Spurs snubbed - you won't believe THIS game is on TV
WEST HAM vs TOTTENHAM has been snubbed by TV broadcasters in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
The London derby was drawn on Saturday night as the domestic competition reaches the Last 16 stage.
The Hammers smashed Macclesfield 8-0 in the last round, while Tottenham defeated Watford on penalties.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men welcome Spurs to the London Stadium buoyed from three successive victories, most notably against Manchester United on the weekend.
Two of the eight ties will be televised on Sky Sports, but the decision to omit the London derby has come as a surprise.
It has been decided that League One Burton Albion’s hosting of Nottingham Forest will be the televised game.
That fixture sees Brewers manager Nigel Clough return to the City Ground, where he played as a professional and his dad, Brian, spearheaded the club to two European Cup successes.
Carabao Cup dates explained
It seems that West Ham vs Spurs encounter was usurped to the box by Chelsea vs Derby.
The tie at Stamford Bridge sees Frank Lampard bring his Rams to the club at which he is the all-time top scorer.
After beating Manchester United in penalties in the last round, Derby’s away trip, along with the storyline, makes it the tie of the round.
Tottenham play Manchester City in the Premier League on the Monday before their fourth-round matches, meaning they couldn’t have played the Tuesday, when Burton vs Forest is on.
City, however, have been granted the dispensation of playing their draw against Fulham on the Thursday.
