Man Utd news: Why Zinedine Zidane would NOT want Jose Mourinho’s job - Lowe
ZINEDINE ZIDANE would not want the Manchester United job if it appeared he instigated a move to Old Trafford, claims Spanish football expert Sid Lowe.
Zidane is the favourite to replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United if the Portuguese was to lose his job.
United are 10th in the Premier League table after seven games and were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Championship side Derby.

Reports claim Zidane rang Mourinho to tell him he was not hunting down his job, something Mourinho has not denied.
And Lowe claims the former France international wants to be seen doing things the right way in his search for a new job.
I’m not entirely convinced he wants the Manchester United job and certainly doesn’t want it in a scenario in which he would be seen having instigated the move
“Zidane is very careful to be seen to do the right thing,” he told ESPN FC.
“I’m not entirely convinced he wants the Manchester United job and certainly doesn’t want it in a scenario in which he would be seen having instigated the move for that.”
Zidane left his role as Real Madrid boss at the end of last season after winning three successive Champions Leagues.
Lowe claims the 46-year-old would prefer to take his new job between seasons but says turning down United would be a tough decision.
“I don’t believe he is in a position where he wants to force any kind of issue in terms of his next job,” he continued.
“Honestly, I don’t know (if he would take the job). Honestly, of course we all know it will be very difficult to turn down Manchester United.
“Beyond the fact it’s a huge club, beyond the fact there is some players there who are very, very good indeed and maybe he can do something with it.
“I also think he will look at that squad and see some of those problems Jose Mourinho’s had.
“We need to perhaps broaden the perspective a bit and it’s not just about Mourinho, and Zidane will be very well aware of the floors within that squad as well.
“Does he want it? I honestly can’t give you an answer to that.
“My feeling is that the way this his departure from Real Madrid was done, my feeling is his preference would be to get his new job in the summer, rather than now.
“But if Man United call you up it’s very difficult to say no.”
United are back in action this evening when they host Valencia in the Champions League.
