Man Utd news: 'Only a handful of players are now fully behind Jose Mourinho' - report
JOSE MOURINHO has lost the majority of the dressing room at Old Trafford, according to the latest reports on the Paul Pogba feud.
Mourinho and Paul Pogba were captured on camera airing their grievances yesterday after an explosive week.
Pogba demanded a tactical switch after the 1-1 draw with Wolves on Saturday and claimed Manchester United must ‘attack, attack, attack’ when at home.
He was then stripped of the vice-captaincy on Tuesday before being dropped for the Derby game in the Carabao Cup.
Then yesterday Pogba and Mourinho had another bust-up on the training ground to put the midfielder’s future in serious doubt.
ESPN report that ‘only a handful of players remain fully behind Mourinho’ after the latest episode in the saga.
It has also been claimed that Manchester United face a mutiny should Mourinho win the war with Pogba and get his way.
Several players are siding with the former Juventus man and would rather see Mourinho leave of the two.
Express Sport understands however that United are prepared to offload the World Cup winner for £200m - ideally in January but more likely in the summer.
That would set in motion the potential for a huge exodus at United with Mourinho alienating several players.
Pogba wants to quit the club and head to either Barcelona or back to Juventus, which could smooth the sale externally.
But internally it is likely to cause huge problems with the current players.
Pogba is well-supported in the dressing room and is a vibrant character around Carrington.
And Mourinho’s constant dressing downs have stunned his fellow players. On Tuesday he was told he would never captain the side again during a training session before the Carabao Cup clash.
Pogba was in the stands and Mourinho is believed to be furious with an Instagram post sent during the match where he was laughing with Andreas Pereira and Luke Shaw.
And it has emerged the social media post was behind yesterday’s exchange.
Mourinho claimed after the Derby match that Pogba had been rested but it will be interesting to see if he returns on Saturday to face West Ham.
Paul Pogba is 'poison' to Man United says Alan Brazil
Pogba told United he wanted to leave in the summer with Barcelona making an offer but Ed Woodward blocked the move.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has been trying to engineer a move for Pogba after last season’s difficulties with Mourinho.
And now he could get his way with the club ready to sell if a £200m bid comes in.
