Europa League draw: Arsenal boss Unai Emery reacts to group stage ties
ARSENAL boss Unai Emery has reacted to his side's Europa League group stage draw.
The Gunners have been handed a favourable draw but one which requires a lot of travelling during the week.
Qarabag, Sporting Lisbon and FC Vorskla are Arsenal's first-round opponents between now and the turn of the year.
Emery won an incredible three Europa League titles with Sevilla, and the Spaniard admits he wants to go deep into the competition, just as Arsene Wenger did last season.
"First it’s three teams and we’ll have respect for them,” he told reporters this afternoon.
he adaptation for these three teams needs to be positive and we need to face them with ambition and our interest to do well in the competition
“After this, we want to go far in this competition.
"Each match is different and each match involves a lot of travel.
"For some, the travel is very long but it’s like that.
"The adaptation for these three teams needs to be positive and we need to face them with ambition and our interest to do well in the competition.”
Emery made the news this week when he banned his players from drinking fruit juice.
And the former PSG boss revealed his reasoning behind the odd decision.
"Yes it is true,” said Emery.
“I like a lot fruit juice but with a lot of sugar no.
"When I was very young my father came every day to wake me up with an orange juice.
"I like in my life more of this. It is the best.
"They prefer fresh orange juice.”
Arsenal will be hoping to keep up their good run when they take on Cardiff this weekend.
The Gunners recorded their first win of the season when beating West Ham at the Emirates last Saturday.
