Morata scored in the 3-2 victory over Arsenal but failed to make an impact in the narrow win against Newcastle last weekend.
Olivier Giroud is reportedly ready to knuckle down and burst into the first team picture ahead of Morata after returning to full fitness following his World Cup break.
The Frenchman showed flashes of quality for the Blues at the end of last season, and may find himself in the starting XI sooner rather than later.
However, it remains to be seen whether Sarri is prepared to drop Morata this soon in the new season for fear of destroying the Spanish ace's already shaky confidence.

New signing Jorginho completed 158 passes versus Newcastle – the second highest total from any player in Premier League history – and has wowed Chelsea fans this season.
He will continue to line-up in the Blues' settled midfield trio alongside Mateo Kovacic and N'Golo Kante.
