Man Utd news: Fred addresses players’ ‘rift’ with Jose Mourinho ahead of Spurs clash
MANCHESTER UNITED new boy Fred has insisted there’s no rift between the players and manager Jose Mourinho.
United suffered their first defeat of the season last weekend away to Brighton, coming out on the wrong end of a 3-2 result.
Following the match, there were suggestions that several players were unhappy with the manager’s tactics - which Paul Pogba alluded to - and that he was on the brink of a revolt.
Fred insists that’s not the case and is adamant there’s a good atmosphere in the United dressing room.
"The media love to talk," the 25-year-old told ESPN Brazil. "The dressing room has an excellent atmosphere. From what I've seen since I arrived, no one has a problem with anybody. It's the contrary. Everyone wants to help everyone.
"(The criticism) is normal. We lost a match. It is a big team, a European giant.
“It is normal that people talk, but Mourinho is a great manager. I am really happy to be working with him.
"I'm really happy to be part of this group as well, because it is a really good and closed group.
“We are all finding solutions to help us improve on the pitch to find our victories."

Although Fred is adamant there’s no dissent among the ranks, he admits the team weren’t happy with their loss to The Seagulls.
“No one is happy after a defeat," he added. "I was very angry about this defeat [against Brighton] and we could have gone top, but this is football.
“Unfortunately, we didn't play well, but now we have a big game in front of us and we need to try to improve and look for the victory.
"Unfortunately, the last match didn't go as well, but day by day we are getting to know each other a little more and I am certain that this squad get better."
United will look to get back to winning ways tomorrow night, when they welcome Tottenham to Old Trafford.
And Brazilian international Fred believes it’s imperative the team get back in the win column as soon as possible.
"It's a very important game,” the £52million summer signing from Shakhtar Donetsk told Sky Sports.
“This week we've been working, focusing on this game, we want to go out and get the win in front of our home fans.
"We know Tottenham are a great team but we need to get the win if we are to aspire to win the league.
"I've got lots of objectives in the short term, the league, the Champions League and the domestic cups.
"I want to win these competitions and in the long term I want to win lots of trophies and I want to gain recognition from the fans and I'd love to leave a mark here and I'd love to leave a legacy at Manchester United."
