Paul Pogba set for huge Man Utd pay day if he rejects Barcelona transfer this month
PAUL POGBA will receive a loyalty bonus from Manchester United if he rejects a move to Barcelona this month, reports say.
Pogba’s Manchester United future has been plunged into uncertainty with the France international heavily linked with Barcelona.
The 25-year-old has endured a mixed two years at Old Trafford, with his relationship with Jose Mourinho continuing to worsen.
Recent reports claim the Manchester United heavyweights had again clashed, with Mourinho reportedly telling his midfield general that he will be allowed to leave if he asks.
Those claims were rubbished by the Red Devils but, with Barcelona courting Pogba, the transfer talk is unlikely to die down.
Yet the Metro say Pogba, should he stay until the end of the month, is in line for a loyalty bonus.
He will reportedly earn £3.4million if he stays put with Barcelona having until August 31 to get a deal done.
The Metro say the Catalan giants could try and sign Pogba before the end of the month.
But it appears the loyalty bonus may force him to stay until January at the earliest.
The Red Devils are adamant Pogba will not be going anywhere.
The France international is the face of the club, having become their most-marketable player since Wayne Rooney’s exit a year ago.
And United feel talk of a move to Barcelona merely stems from Mourinho’s criticism of his World Cup campaign.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports presenter James Cooper yesterday revealed United were ‘angry’ about talk of another blowing row between their two biggest names.
He said: "Manchester United have spoken to me this morning.
Paul Pogba to Barcelona would be a 'good move' says Mariner
"Which is very rare and unusual for Manchester United to react to stories at all, particularly to react so angrily.
"And they are angry, they are incensed, they're telling me there was no bust up between Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba.
"The reports of this are absolute nonsense.
"Furthermore, the relationship between the two people is good."
