Everton transfer news: Marco Silva says Barcelona signings believe Toffees are a big club
MARCO SILVA says his three signings from Barcelona all believe Everton are a big club.
The Toffees landed defenders Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne as well as securing a loan deal for midfielder Andre Gomes from the Spanish giants.
Everton also brought in Richarlison from Watford in a £40m move while highly-fancied Brazilian Bernard snubbed Chelsea and West Ham to move to Merseyside on a free transfer.
A frantic deadline day saw Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma arrive on a season-long loan at a club that toiled for most of last season.
“We signed players because they thought we are a big club as well,” Silva said.
“All those we signed showed me they really want to come. That is important for me and the club.”
None of the deadline-day signings will feature at Wolves on Saturday but Everton’s summer business means Ademola Lookman could be squeezed out.
The winger, 20, wanted to leave for Red Bull Leipzig following a loan spell there last term, but Everton blocked it.
Silva insisted: “I told him and our board I believe in his skills and his profile.
“If he is in a better position and moment than the others then, for sure, he will play.”
