That is the verdict of former Arsenal forward and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing in a new centre-back before today’s 5pm transfer deadline.
Leicester’s Harry Maguire, Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld, Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godin have all been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
However, it now appears Mourinho will have to settle with the squad he has at his disposal.

And Merson says there has to be issues between Jose Mourinho and executive vice chairman Ed Woodward, who is in charge of transfer dealings.
“This is Man United, this for me is the biggest football club in the world of football and they’re scratching around for a player now. They can’t get one over the line," Merson said.
“This is Man United. As soon as they want you then surely they’ve got to make it happen.

“I don’t know if Mourinho and whoever is sorting out are going further apart.
“But this is not right, this is Man United, this is the biggest club in the world.”
