Mercedes ace Hamilton, 32, saw off stiff competition from Vettel to claim his fourth Drivers’ World Championship title last month.
Their battles on the track over the years have sparked plenty of speculation about their relationship off it.
But Hamilton said: “I don’t have any hate for Vettel.
“Obviously we had our battle through the year and I have always remained respectful.
“I see him as a four-time world champion – as a fantastic driver.

“I love the fact that I was able to come back harder and come out on top.
“I think it is always a hard moment for anyone to lose a championship – particularly if you have been in the lead for some time.
“I have been there before.”
Hamilton is set to continue his rivalry with Vettel, who signed a three-year contract with the Italian team, next season.
Despite claiming bragging rights this year, Hamilton is not planning to ease off any time soon.
"Sebastian just signed for three more years with Ferrari, which is good," he said ahead of Sunday’s Brazilian Grand Prix.
"In my head the objective is to keep making his life difficult.
"Perfection is the goal and I want to get as close as possible to perfection.”
