Lewis Hamilton leaves McLaren and join Mercedes in $100m move
LEWIS Hamilton has left McLaren - his boyhood team - and joined Mercedes for a whopping $100m.
The racing driver will sign a three year deal at the end of the season after a glittering career with McLaren.
McLaren were only understood to have been informed of Hamilton’s decision yesterday, and are set to hold a press conference of their own later, at which they will announce their next move.
Mercedes had been waiting on the final go-ahead before they formally announced the decision.

The decision will mean that Michael Schmacher's career will be at an end with Mercedes as there will be no space for the seven-time world champion.

Speaking about Hamilton earlier this week, Mercedes team prinicipal, Ross Brawn said: "" Any ambitious team look at the top drivers - and we're an ambitious team. He (Hamilton) is a very good driver."
Hamilton won the Grand Prix for McLaren in 2008.
