Martin Brundle is one of the wealthiest figures in Formula 1, despite the fact he hasn't competed for nearly 30 years. The 65-year-old has been providing commentary and punditry for the sport in the UK ever since retiring from driving and has been one of the faces of Sky Sports' F1 coverage since 2012.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Brundle is valued at a staggering $100million (£75.7m), a large chunk of which has been made throughout his extensive broadcasting career, which included spells at ITV and the BBC. Over the past couple of decades, Brundle has become one of the most recognisable and popular figures in British sport - something, it's fair to say, his net worth reflects.

He also spent 12 years as an F1 driver, and while he never really made the sort of splash compatriots Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill did in the sport, it's estimated that Brundle earned around £14m from his racing career, which included a victory in the 1990 24 Hours of Le Mans. The rest of his gigantic wealth has come from a mix of sponsorships, endorsement deals and media work.

Given he's a lifelong gear-head, the fact that Brundle has spent a good chunk of his fortune on cars should come as little surprise. His stunning collection includes a sprinkling of some of the most evocative vehicles around.

Brundle admitted he "loved" his Aston Martin DBS in a chat with Evo Magazine in 2021. However, one of his personal favourites is his Porsche Cayenne 4.2 V8 diesel, a car he says he takes on road trips.

The Sky Sports pundit has also owned a range of Ferrari’s including the 328 GTS, 355 GTB and a 550 Maranello. He also has a custom-built Eagle E-Type Jaguar and a Ford Escort Hot Rod that he souped up himself.

Brundle is a highly-regarded commentator and pundit, but his iconic grid walks are the piece de resistance of his professional arsenal. Offering unique access to the drivers in the crucial moments before a race, as well as entertaining and/or awkward encounters with celebrities, the grid walks have become a much-loved staple of the F1 calendar for viewers in the UK.

But enjoy them while they last because Brundle recently admitted that he could be "one interview away" from packing things up. Speaking to GQ, the former racer, who revealed he adopts an "alter ego" during the segment, said: "I always feel I’m one interview away from the end of my career. It’s so not my personality to run around being cheeky, but my alter ego comes out.

"When you’ve got millions of people sitting on your shoulder looking for some inside information, some entertainment, you just have to go for it. First and foremost, it’s sport, it’s entertainment: we have to be fun to watch. It’s the uncomfortable interactions that people love and that’s fine by me.

"Quite often, the A-listers look at me like I’m from outer space," Brundle added. "And it’s like: ‘Hang on, I thought you were briefed! I thought you knew I was coming'."

Brundle was born and raised in Norfolk, and currently lives with his wife in the village of Gayton, just a few miles away from King's Lynn, the town he grew up in. He has a daughter, Charlotte, and a son Alex, who has followed in his father's footsteps by becoming a racing driver. He's competed in Formula 2, Formula E and British Formula 3 in the past, as well as in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
