Red Bull confirm AlphaTauri name change and rebrand as new sponsors emerge
AlphaTauri has been the name of the Red Bull's second team for the past four seasons, but they now have a fresh identity.
Red Bull have confirmed that their second team will be rebranded to Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team for the 2024 season and beyond after four years under the AlphaTauri branding.
As part of the new agreement, Visa will also become the Red Bull team's first-ever global partner with their logo set to appear on both the senior team and the academy team's cars.
The rebrand has been expected since midway through the 2023 campaign, when advisor Helmut Marko confirmed that they would be taking the Faenza-based team in a different direction for 2024 and into the future.
“AlphaTauri will have two new leaders in Laurent Mekies and Peter Bayer from 2024," he told Kleine Zeitung. “There will be new sponsors and also a new name. The orientation is clear: based on Red Bull Racing, as far as the regulations allow. Do-it-yourself constructions are the wrong way.”

Bayer - who has taken up the role of CEO - marked the announcement by stating: "It’s fantastic to reveal the new identity and to welcome new partners as we embark on the next phase of the team’s Formula 1 story.
“Faenza is entering a new era of racing, staying true to our roots as a hothouse for talent but now with an even greater focus on competing for the biggest prizes in F1.
"We have a bold vision for the team led by myself and Team Principal, Laurent Mekies and having future-focused partners such as Visa and Cash App alongside us on that journey is hugely exciting.”

The new name also marks the start of a new era of cooperation with Red Bull for the Visa Cash App RB squad. Mekies' team endured a torrid 2024, during which they spent the majority of the campaign at the bottom of the Constructors' Championship standings.
Thanks to the heroic efforts of Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo, the team were able to climb from 10th to eighth following four point-scoring outings in the final five rounds of the season, but this was still an underwhelming outcome.
Therefore, in 2024 there will be far greater cooperation between Red Bull and Visa Cash App RB on a technical level as the reigning constructor champions look to closer align their two F1 entities on the track.
