Toto Wolff 'fed up' as Lewis Hamilton off the pace again in Abu Dhabi
Lewis Hamilton endured another qualifying session to forget in Abu Dhabi as he was well-beaten by team-mate George Russell.
Toto Wolff stated that he was 'fed up' after qualifying at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Mercedes failed to capitalise fully on Carlos Sainz's Q1 elimination when Lewis Hamilton failed to make the cut for Q3.
Mercedes looked to have been dealt a gift in Q1 when Sainz was knocked out by Red Bull's Sergio Perez but they couldn't take full advantage in the second part of qualifying.
After a mediocre final run Hamilton was sitting on the fringes of the top ten before team-mate George Russell improved to set his team-mate on course for back-to-back Q2 exits.
There was a little more for Wolff to celebrate in Q3 as Russell managed to deliver on the potential that he demonstrated during FP3 and qualify on the second row.

However, even that success came with a caveat as Charles Leclerc produced a sensational lap to place his Ferrari on the front row alongside polesitter Max Verstappen.
Discussing Mercedes' evening with Sky Sports F1, Wolff said: "FP3 was dominant. Norris could have probably been there, and would have in qualifying by the way.
"It just didn't come together. Probably that's what was in the car. Expectations were higher. I'm fed up with having explanations on why it didn't go well.

"We were good in the hot, we weren't in the cold. [On] previous days it has been the other way around. I'm happy this was the last qualifying of the season and we will come with a new car."
The Silver Arrows head into Sunday's race with a slender four-point lead over Ferrari in the Constructors' Championship, although momentum has been in the Scuderia's corner following Leclerc's P2 finish in Las Vegas.
That said, Mercedes' rivals have been on the back foot since the start of the weekend on the other side of the garage after Sainz brought out the red flag in FP2 with a major shunt on the exit of Turn 2.
