Formula 1: Pundit on 'salvaging season' during pandemic
There is a star-studded line-up ready to take part in the second instalment of F1's Virtual Grand Prix series. The virtual races have been set up due to the 2020 Formula 1 season being postponed until June at the earliest because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The inaugural race - the Virtual Bahrain Grand Prix - was won by Renault test driver Guanyu Zhou.
This weekend would have seen F1 head to Vietnam but Australia's Albert Park track will be used for today's virtual race as the Hanoi Street Circuit is not available on the official F1 2019 game.
There will be a short qualifying period to determine the starting grid, followed by a 28-lap race.
Julian Tan, F1’s Head of Digital Business Initiatives and Esports said: “Following the massive success of the F1 Esports Bahrain Virtual Grand Prix, we are thrilled to be able to come back online again this weekend to provide fans with some racing action.
