Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto has suggested he will ban Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc from racing each other following their collision at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Ferrari had looked in a good position towards the end of the race to potentially have both cars on the podium.
Leclerc pitted for fresh soft tyres during a safety car period towards the end of the race.
When the race resumed, Leclerc took his chance to overtake Vettel through the Senna Esses.
However, the German had DRS coming out of the bend down the straight and had the speed to come back at his Ferrari team-mate.
The two drivers were wheel-to-wheel going into the corner, with neither willing to yield.
And it proved costly as the cars made contact, resulting in Leclerc suffering a punctured front right.
Vettel was forced to retire moments later from the damage, with both drivers expressing anger at one another on team radio.
And Binotto has suggested a discussion will be held about whether the two drivers will be allowed to race one another on the track in the future.
“We need to sit down and decide where the limits are to make sure these things don’t happen anymore,” Binotto said.
“When we have tried to manage the drivers before we have been criticised.
"When they are free to fight we have been criticised, too.
“But we need to clarify what is silly, what is not, and what is the limit.
"When you have a crash there is no doubt that something has gone wrong.”
But Binotto stopped short of suggesting the crash would prove a detriment to the relationship between the two drivers.
“I am still convinced it is a luxury to have them in the same team because they are both very good drivers and a benchmark for each other,” he added..
“What I read or hear, is different to what I see internally with them.
"They have a good relationship, but certainly what happened on Sunday may not help that.”
