After India were reduced to 71-3 in Mumbai, Kohli and Dinesh Karthik went about rebuilding the innings.
The skipper was in typical fluent form and rushed towards yet another half century with a stunning pull for six off Adam Milne.
The ball just evaded Colin Munro who was fielding on the deep backward square boundary.
But on second inspection the ball was indeed caught, by the ball boy!
The youngster stuck out his right arm and clung onto the ball, sending the crowd into raptures when it was repeated on the replay screen.

Brilliant young man. That is how you take a catch to get Virat Kohli
Former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris, who was commentating on the ODI, was impressed.
“Just watch this catch. Brilliant young man,” Styris said.
“That is how you take a catch to get Virat Kohli.
“Get him into the covers, especially off Kohli. Water bottles everywhere too, he’s got to watch where his feet go.”
Another commentator said the boy must play cricket for one of the younger age groups in Mumbai.
“It will be a proud moment for him,” he said.
