Eoin Morgan sends message to England batsmen after 'poor day' results in Pakistan win
EOIN MORGAN said England's batsmen must take full responsibility for defeat in the first one-day international against Pakistan on Wednesday.
Morgan was unable to guide his team through the 50 overs
Morgan, who top-scored with 76, said it would "cruel" to blame the bowlers after England posted a total of 216 despite winning the toss.
Reece Topley, who picked up three wickets, gave England some early hope before Pakistan cruised to victory by six wickets with 36 balls to spare.
"We could have done with another 30 minimum and possibly 280, but it is the first time in two series that we have underperformed with the bat.
"It was a poor day but we have to pick ourselves up and get back in the series and we are determined to do that."
