Ashley Giles' men down in the dumps after shock Netherlands defeat
ENGLAND'S ill-fated World T20 campaign ended in disaster after losing to minnows Netherlands in their final group game.
Ashley Giles' men lost to South Africa by three runs at the weekend to scupper their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals.
And in this dead rubber of a game, Stuart Broad et al were brittle with the bat and lost by 45 runs.
The Netherlands were in fine fettle and were 32-0 off three overs.
Stuart Broad delivered the breakthrough as he induced Swart into a lofted drive that was taken by Stephen Parry at mid-on.
However, more haphazard fielding cost England once again, but chasing down a target of 133 should have been relatively straightforward.
Broad's men never really got going in their reply and Moeen Ali was cheaply dismissed with England just 32-4 after eight overs.
Leaving themselves with 48 to win from just 2.4 overs, England faced a mountainous task.
And their sorry display was compounded when James Treadwell was run out in bizarre fashion.
