Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder: Insider outlines plans for shock bout to take place in April
TYSON FURY could face Deontay Wilder in April if he wins a few more warm-up fights, it has been claimed.
Yesterday afternoon, Fury stunned the boxing world by claiming a fight between himself and the WBC heavyweight champion is in the works for December.
"I can confirm that me and Deontay Wilder are in negotiations, very close to being done,” 29-year-old Fury said in videos on his Twitter and Instagram pages.
"Frank told you all on talkSPORT this morning, the breakfast show or whatever it was, I’m not too sure.
"But it is out there now and I can reveal that negotiations are being very strong for December.
We’re almost done with this deal.”
Fury’s declaration that he’s on course to fight for the WBC heavyweight crown stunned many, mainly due to the fact he only ended a three-and-a-half-year hiatus from the ring last month.
The notion of the Manchester native challenging for a world title by the end of the year was quickly shot down by Gareth A Davis of the Daily Telegraph, who claimed a December showdown was ‘too soon’ in his opinion.

I’ll beat you, you bum!
However, Davis believes Fury could face ‘The Bronze Bomber’ in the spring after getting a few more fights under his belt.
“Works... but too soon for Nov/Dec IMO,” Davis tweeted in response to Fury's videos.
“Fury three more fights then world title challenge... April next year.
Fury, the former WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, Ring magazine heavyweight king, more than fancies his chances of ending Wilder’s unbeaten run telling the American in 2016: “Anytime, anyplace, anywhere.
“I’ll fight you in your backyard. Like I done Klitschko, I’ll beat you, you bum! You’re a bum!”
Fury will return to the ring on August 18 at Windsor Park, where he’ll face two-time two-time world title challenger Francesco Pianeta.
