Oscar Valdez beats Scott Quigg by unanimous decision: Undercard RECAP from California
OSCAR VALDEZ has continued his unbeaten run by defeating Scott Quigg by unanimous points decision.
Scott Quigg is hoping to blemish Oscar Valdez's 23-0 record.
Quigg weighed in for the fight 2.8lbs overweight so the WBO featherweight title was taken off the line.
However, the Bury-born fighter proved to be Valdez’s toughest opponent to date but the Mexican still extended his record to 24-0.
The judges scored the fight 117-111, 117-111 and 118-110.
And after the bout Quigg said: “I’m gutted.
“There are no excuses. It was a great fight and I was in the fight all the way along.
“Early on we were trading, then we started to box, then we were trading again.”
