Tony Bellew: This is what I really think of David Haye
TONY BELLEW has revealed what he really thinks about David Haye.
Tony Bellew was a guest on ITV's Nightly show with comedian John Bishop
Bellew produced a stunning upset at the O2 Arena on Saturday to beat David Haye in their heavyweight grudge match.
The Everton fan stopped Haye in the 11th round of the injury-hit fight, with Bellew picking up a broken hand and Haye suffering a torn Achilles.
Bellew and Haye were engulfed in a war of words building up to the fight that could see the Londoner sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control.
I couldn’t stand him. I enjoyed nothing more than smacking him in the chops, truth be told
And Bellew, 34, admitted he really doesn’t like 36-year-old Haye during an appearance on ITV’s The Nightly Show last night.
“I couldn’t stand him,” Bellew said. “I enjoyed nothing more than smacking him in the chops, truth be told.
“I admire him as an athlete and for being the great fighter than he is and was but I don’t like him from a personal perspective, I don’t think he’s a nice fella.
“I think some of the things he said in the build-up was disgusting and he portrayed boxing, well, he portrayed himself in a very poor light.
Tony Bellew re-lives his heavyweight victory over David Haye
Tony Bellew appeared on the Nightly show alongside Pamela Anderson
“He stuck his media profile in the toilet and on Saturday night I flushed it.”
Bellew trained in Rotherham before their bout while Haye was seen living the high life in Miami.
And the Bomber reckons that had a key role in deciding the outcome of their fight.
“One guy trains to have a beautiful body and one guy trains to fight to the finish and that showed on Saturday night,” Bellew added.
