The British fighter was floored in the sixth by the big-hitting Mexican, who retained his WBC middleweight title.
Khan, 29, was whisked away to a nearby Las Vegas hospital as a precaution.
Promoter Oscar De La Hoya confirmed the former light-welterweight world champion is “OK”.
It is routine for this to happen when a fighter takes such a heavy blow.
Khan had earlier said: “I didn’t make it to the end, but I tried my best.
“I want to be the best, and I want to fight the best. That is why I took this fight.”
Khan sent out a Tweet on his way to hospital in an ambulance.
He said: "I'm okay everyone. That's boxing for you, congrats to Canelom monster punch, much love to all the fans!"
