Jake Paul has confirmed his bout with Mike Tyson will still take place as scheduled, despite the boxing legend suffering a medical emergency. American YouTuber Paul and former world heavyweight champion Tyson will meet over eight two-minute rounds in front of up to 90,000 fans at the AT&T Stadium. The fight is currently set to take place in July.

But doubts were thrown over the likelihood of it taking place when 57-year-old Tyson required medical attention while on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. The incident took place during a flight on Sunday evening.

But despite concern from some over Tyson's readiness to fight given the incident, Paul has moved to downplay those worries. In an X-rated tweet, the American insisted that 'nothing has changed'.

"You love to make ---- up before knowing the facts for clicks/likes. Nothing changed," Paul wrote in his update. Tyson's team also insisted he would be ready to fight, blaming the medical emergency on a fault with the plane. "Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great," read a statement issued to Mirror Fighting.

"He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him. However, it's false reporting that his medical attention caused the flight delay. This two-hour delay was due to air conditioning issue on the aircraft."

Tyson required medical attention after he began feeling nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up, just 30 minutes before his plane was set to land. In Touch Weekly reported that a call for a doctor was made over the plane's tannoy system. A witness told the publication: "Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded. Before the paramedics arrived the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor - the message even came on everyone's screens.

"There was a lot of buzz when he left the Admirals Club and got to the gate. A lot of fans recognised him, and a few people got pictures. He was very accommodating and then he was escorted away from the gate because the flight was delayed because the gate person said that the plane was too hot because it had been sitting all day and had to cool down."

The eyewitness added: "He was in first class, but we were an exit row and the stewardess was very chatty. They asked us to stay on the plane and landed so paramedics could enter. She said something like, 'He's a really important passenger so we want to make sure he's OK.' I knew it was him, but I just mouthed the words ' Mike Tyson ' and she nodded her head 'yes.'"
