Who is Oleksandr Usyk's wife? Long-term partner who was happy with Tyson Fury fight delay
Tyson Fury made Oleksandr Usyk miss the birth of his fourth child when their fight was delayed, but Usyk's wife, Yekaterina, was unexpectedly happy about it.
Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will both put it all on the line on Saturday night in boxing's first undisputed heavyweight championship fight since Lennox Lewis-Evander Holyfield in 1999. The fight was meant to go ahead at the end of last year before being further delayed after initially being rescheduled for Feb. 17, but Usyk's wife was delighted.
Usyk is married to Yekaterina Usyk, who is also commonly known as Kateryna, and has been since 2009.
Unlike some celebrity spouses, Yekaterina chooses to keep her personal life extremely private. However, it's believed that the Ukrainian couple were dating for several years before getting married 15 years ago.
Yekaterina has 22,000 followers on Instagram but with only 86 total posts since making the account, she isn't very active on social media. She is an avid supporter of her heavyweight husband and is always ringside for his fights, which is why she was one of the few people that celebrated his bout with Fury getting delayed.

Fury initially had to postpone his fight with Usyk due to facing Francis Ngannou in October 2023. The 'Gypsy King' was expected to cruise past the former UFC star, who was competing in his first professional boxing match, but almost suffered his first career loss.
Ngannou managed to drop Fury and go the distance, losing to a controversial split decision in Tyson's favor. The fight left a lasting impact on Fury, who needed more time to recover and train to face Usyk, who is also undefeated in professional boxing.
A cut to Fury's head delayed the bout further, frustrating Usyk who was training hard and ready for Feb. 17. But Usyk's wife felt relief, as she was initially going to miss the contest due to giving birth to their fourth child around that time.
"My wife was happy when she heard the news," Usyk told The Sun. "Maria was born on January 28 and the fight was going to be [on] February 17. So it was going to be too soon for her to leave the baby and travel. Now she knows, with the new delays, that she will be able to come to the May 18 new date."
Usyk now has two sons and two daughters with his wife, and was present for the first three births. But due to being locked into fight camp before the bout was postponed, he missed the birth of Maria. It's a regret for Usyk, but at the time he didn't know that Fury wouldn't be ready.
"That was the first birth I have missed. I should have been with my wife, I should have been there with her," Usyk admitted. It may be something that haunts Usyk, but it'll give him even more motivation when he faces the 'Gypsy King' in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
