Anthony Joshua lifts lid on life and training under coronavirus lockdown
Anthony Joshua has been isolating with his family during the coronavirus lockdown.
Anthony Joshua has opened up on how life has been for him since the enforcement of the coronavirus lockdown. The United Kingdom is now in its fifth week of lockdown, which Prime Minister Boris Johnson introduced to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Britons are now bound to living their once busy and travel-heavy lives in the confines of their homes, which has been testing for many.
As tough as this lockdown period has been, many have used the time at home to connect with their loved ones and re-evaluate what's important to them.
Several have also chosen to isolate with their family members, including unified heavyweight champion Joshua.
"I am actually at my family home with my Mum, my niece, my son and my cousin, we are all quarantining together so it’s nice," Joshua told DAZN's Chris Mannix

"We are all aware there is a pandemic happening across the world but fortunately none of my family have had any tragic losses or massive effects from the virus. We are trying to take advantage of spending time together.”
Joshua, of course, is tentatively scheduled to defend his unified heavyweight titles against Bulgaria's Kubrat Pulev at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 25.
His homecoming, however, could end up being delayed beyond that date as there currently aren't plans to allow mass gatherings in the coming months.
Preparing for his first title defence since regaining the unified titles last December has been something of a difficulty for Joshua, who has had to make do with running and garden workouts whilst he's unable to train at the gym.

He said: “Why I chose boxing when I was younger is because it is a sport where you don’t really need much. You need to keep fit – the reason why we do road work is to keep the legs strong in the later rounds.
"In the U.K. the guidelines are exercise outside the house but only up to an hour, so sometimes I go running or cycling. I also shadow box in the garden, which is something of a lost art.”
Although Joshua's daily routine has been greatly disrupted by the nationwide lockdown, he admits he's benefitted mentally and physically from the break.
When asked if the global pandemic has allowed him to refocus, Joshua told Sky Sports: "Without a shadow of a doubt.
"Life was moving at such a fast pace before, I couldn't have time to look back and assess the footsteps I had taken.
"Now I've taken time to really look at myself, moving forwards into the next chapter of my career.
"From a mental and physical standpoint that should put me in good stead because I'm well-rested. My mind is settled, my body is settled.
"When the fire gets going again, it will be a roaring blaze."
