Anthony Joshua is set to earn his highest payday as a professional boxer when he takes on Andy Ruiz Jr on Saturday night.
Joshua vs Ruiz: Hasim Rahman talks heavyweight rematch
Anthony Joshua earned a cool £18million to fight Andy Ruiz Jr for the first time back in June. AJ lost the fight via seventh-round TKO and within days a rematch clause was activated. So what will the Brit be making for the rematch?
Joshua is arguably the biggest star in boxing, alongside Mexican star Canelo Alvarez, who picks up a contracted £30million per fight as part of his deal with broadcasters DAZN.
Ruiz’s rematch with Joshua is taking place in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, however.
The country have put up a reported £31m site fee in order to stage the event at the UNESCO World Heritage site in the country’s capital Riyadh.

“Central to that has been my trainer, Rob McCracken. I know he got stick from a lot of people following my defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in New York, but that wasn’t warranted.
“It was me in the ring, he’s always prepared me brilliantly for my fights and there’s no one I’d rather have in my corner than Rob. No one knows me better.

Anthony Joshua explains how he will react if he beats Andy Ruiz Jr
“Preparing for fight night is an individual process — everyone’s different — but I’ve twice been to the arena, gone through the changing rooms, done my ring walk and thought about my entrance.”
Ruiz said: “I think he will box around nicely for four or five rounds until I take the pressure to him, start hitting his body and mixing it up.
“I did say he was not good enough to avoid me for the full 12 rounds, on the back foot.
“We have been working on this for around three months now and I know, whatever he brings, we will be ready for it.”
