Boxing News - Anthony Joshua slammed by Tyson Fury
Former lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury believes Anthony Joshua has yet to prove himself to be a ‘fighting man.’
“I believe Deontay Wilder is the man who is willing to fight,” the 30-year-old said.
“I’m British, so I’ll admit that I don’t think Anthony Joshua’s team want the fight. That’s being brutally honest because if they did, they’d make the fight and have an undisputed world champion.
“I really wish they would fight each other. I feel it’s team AJ that doesn’t want the fight.”
‘The Gypsy King’ added: “He’s also fought the avoided Luis Ortiz. He’s fought the elusive King of Sting, dancing destroyer, singing master that’s me.
“Joshua hasn’t – facts are facts. Until they fight, I feel it’s team AJ that doesn’t want the fight.
“Wilder’s proved to me he’s a fighting man and he’ll fight – but I haven’t seen that from Joshua.”
I would love another go in the boxing ring, to see what happens
Boxing News - Conor McGregor calls for Floyd Mayweather rematch
Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor has called for a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr, who defeated him in a boxing match in August 2017.
“Originally the promise was that I fought him on his terms, and he then fought me on my terms,” he said during an appearance on The Tony Robbins Podcast.
“I haven’t heard from him since. We’ll see what happens. I would love another go in the boxing ring, to see what happens.
“The Mexican boxing style is where you put your elbows in tight and walk forward with heavy pressure. He never fought like that in his entire career.
“I know he’s not going to come into my game, but I would love to rematch him under boxing rules again and have that knowledge and my sparring partners coming forward with that style and see where we go.
“I believe I would win. Actually, there I go again with that fake humbleness. I know I would win.”
Boxing News - Manny Pacquiao discusses Keith Thurman fight
Future Hall-of-Famer Manny Pacquiao has revealed he decided to fight Keith Thurman to prove he’s not past his sell-by date.
“I've never been scared of a challenge," he said. "I'm so excited for this fight against an undefeated champion.
“He’s the kind of fighter that you can’t underestimate. His record and success gives me more motivation to work hard.
"I will make sure that I’m 100 percent and ready for this fight. We’ll find out what happens on July 20, but it’s going to be exciting. I like being the underdog for this fight because that gives me more focus in training.
"I’ve been careless and overconfident in some fights, but this time around it’s different.
"Keith Thurman is a good fighter and we’re going to make sure the fans are happy on July 20.
"I chose Keith Thurman because he’s undefeated and I want to prove that at age 40 I can still beat a great fighter like Keith.
"My time is not yet over. My journey is continuing. I’m going to prove that and more on July 20 against Keith Thurman."
