Canelo Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs face-off ahead of fight
Tensions boiled over on Friday in Sin City when the two middleweights took to the scales for the weigh-in.
While there has been no trash talk prior to the spectacle, the pair came to blows on stage during their face-off as they went head-to-head in fiery scenes.
All will be settled in the ring at the T-Mobile Arena in front of an expected sell-out crowd of 20,000.
Three world titles will be on the line including Canelo’s WBA and WBC belts as well as Jacob’s red IBF strap.
The winner of this fight will no doubt be crowned the best middleweight in the world, and will surge up the pound-for-pound rankings.
While the main event sells itself, who will be on the undercard?
Vergil Ortiz Jr vs Mauricio Herrera
Vergil Ortiz is a rising prospect from Dallas who takes on a journeyman in Herrera who is looking to spoil the party.
He is best known for a close defeat to Danny Garcia back in 2014 on the scorecards.
Lamont Roach vs Jonathan Oquendo
Like Ortiz, Roach is an undefeated star looking to make a statement.
Although he’s not as exciting as his fellow contender, Roach is a sturdy operator looking to put on a show.
Joseph Diaz Jr vs Freddy Fonseca
Diaz is a former Olympian who has had a few spells of interest, most notably when he faced Gary Russel Jr in 2018.
In the other corner, Nicaragian boxer Fonseca hasn’t tasted defeat since 2015, this will be his first fight in the United States. Not a bad occasion for it.
