Tyson Fury opens up on stunning weight loss ahead of Deontay Wilder showdown
TYSON FURY has revealed he lost a staggering 135lbs as he battled his demons and made his way back to the ring.
Fury takes on Deontay Wilder on December 1 as he attempts to capture the WBC heavyweight title, having just had two fights in three years.
The 30-year-old won all of the heavyweight titles except for the WBC when he defeated Wladimir Klitschko in a wide points victory in 2015.
However, he was stripped of the IBF belt just a week later, and would go on to lose all of the belts out of the ring, before retiring and ballooning up to 25 stone.
In a staggering comeback, however, Fury revealed he has now lost 9.6 stone, and now weighs lighter than he did when he tipped the scales at 17.4 stone against Klitschko.
To put Fury’s weight loss in perspective, the weight he has shaded is the equivalent to what lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko weighs.
Fury revealed his dramatic weight loss whilst appearing on Good Morning Britain with Wilder ahead of the pair’s London press conference.
“I’ve lost another 15lbs (one stone) since we last met,” he said on Good Morning Britain.
“(So altogether) maybe about 135lbs (9.6st).”
At the pair’s first press conference, Fury squared up to Wilder after a furious exchange between the pair.
Despite his lengthy absence from the ring, the former champion insisted he should be spoken about as equal to Wilder.
“I am no challenger for no man," he added.
“I’m the lineal heavyweight champion of the world, the best of the best.
“This is two champions colliding, equal rights, rephrase and start again.
“You think this is a game? I'll punch your face in. You've got power then? let me feel that power boy.”
