The 77-year-old former politician had previously been ruled out of competing in the challenge on medical grounds.
However, in a shock twist, the father of Boris Johnson was announced as a contender for the latest task alongside campmate Georgia Toffolo.
Hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who confirmed he could take part in the challenge, appeared shocked by the news they delivered.

Declan joked: “Stanley Johnson has been ruled in on medical grounds," to which Anthony added: “We can’t believe it either."
Viewers were quick to take to social media to declare their shock at Stanley finally being allowed to compete in a trial.

In the first round of boys versus girls live task, Stanley beat Georgia by downing witchery grub and bagged the boys one point.
His performance didn’t go unnoticed as viewers flocked to Twitter to congratulate him.
One posted: "Stanley is a beast, smashed that challenged! #ImACeleb," while a second wrote: "Stanley Johnson is my hero #ImACeleb.”
