The 59-year-old performed the steamy routine to I Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You by Boys Town Gang and was seen being swung around Giovanni Pernice's head in one of the most daring lifts to date.
However, while Tess Daly branded the magician's assistant as "fearless" and viewers at home gushed over her bravery, Shirley pointed out a number of errors.
When asked what she thought of the routine, the 57-year-old commented: "It was on its way to being a championship Salsa but we had some mistakes.
"Let's be fair here, you got the reverse turns and the spins, a very difficult step, more easy when you go the natural way but you went the reverse way and missed his arm.
