The Chase: Bradley Walsh clashes with team over shocking final 'We need a sit down'
THE CHASE host Bradley Walsh tore apart the quiz show’s team for their unbelievably slow performance on today’s episode, leaving one player forced to defend himself.
The Chase: Bradley Walsh slams contestants for pausing
It appeared that all four contestants on the ITV series’ latest instalment were on stellar form, as each one managed to outrun chaser Anne Hegerty and take their cash builder winnings through to the final.
Yet when 70-year-old David, Alex, 29, Lisa, 47, and Jack, 30, attempted to answer comedian Bradley Walsh’s questions in the tense final round, they left gaping pauses between their answers.
Frustrated by what he’d just witnessed, the presenter chose not to give the team his usual words of encouragement, and told them off for their performance instead.
“Tell you what, we could have got to 26 not 20. I could have driven a bus though them pauses, waiting for you to give me an answer or press the buzzer, crikey!”

As the team looked crestfallen by Bradley, 57, chastising them, boxing MC Jack took it upon himself to defend the group.
He said: “20’s not too bad though, hopefully,” which seemed to remind the series’ host what his duties were.
“No Jack 20's very, very good,” Bradley finally replied, as Jack continued: “Hopefully we’ll get some pushbacks as well.”
While the Law and Order UK actor agreed that his team were good and would have no problem with pushbacks, he made a point of turning to the camera and shrugging his shoulders in disappointment.

Unable to help himself, Bradley then began complaining once more when The Governess returned to her seat, saying: “I didn’t know if we were gonna need a sit down during that!”
It appeared that Bradley was right, because the team failed to succeed against the impressive chaser, despite only losing to one second.
The Chase continues tomorrow at 5pm on ITV.
