THE CHASE viewers were left fuming after it appeared that the show had gotten the answer to a pivotal question wrong, sending one player home tonight.

When 26-year-old Sophie was up to take her turn on the ITV quiz show, she persistently struggled to answer the trivia questions correctly.
But one question about the app Pokemon Go - which took the country by storm when it was released last year - stopped viewers in their tracks.
While the episode’s chosen chaser Mark Labbett, also known as The Beast, was thrilled to get the question about how many different Pokemon there are in the game, fans were unimpressed by Sophie who was told she’d answered incorrectly with 151.
Tweeting up a storm, viewers slammed the series for apparently getting their facts wrong.

There are more than 151 Pokemon in Pokemon Go. #thechase lies!
One person said: “@ITVChase sorry to say this but the answer to your Pokémon go question was wrong as I have 233 and most of them are all different #PokemonGo.”
“@ITVChase that pokemon go question was wrong there is actually 231 not 151 so get your facts right tut tut,”(sic) another viewer criticised.
A third agreed: “There are more than 151 Pokemon in Pokemon Go. #thechase lies!”
Some viewers recognised that the problem may have been with the time of filming the show however, as one speculated: “When was this filmed? It's 251 now and has been since February. #TheChase”

Trying to silence the angry fans, another person explained: “Must’ve been filmed before gen 2 came out. So the answer should have been 146, as the legendaries and Mew/Mewtwo weren’t released #thechase.”(sic)
The episode also saw antiques’ dealer Richard, 41, and retired teacher Larry, 65, get caught by The Beast with only three seconds to spare in the final chase.
