FOOD: Chickens, Hugh And Tesco Too
THE crusade to improve animal welfare by getting the nation to eat free-range chicken continues.
“Real food” campaigner Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall (above) takes his fight with Tesco, which in 2008 was reluctant to join his free-range chicken revolution, to another level.
In an audacious attempt to change the way the retailing giant produces its poultry and provide humanely produced yet affordable chicken instead, Hugh becomes a Tesco shareholder.
His aim is to convince fellow shareholders to help him put his case to Tesco’s board of directors. But will they back him this time?
