Jones, 40, who became a mother for the first time in January, will front a documentary series uncovering family history.
The show will use "a pioneering DNA test" to give people the chance to "dig deeper into their family history".
It comes just days after she announced her return to The One Show
The Secrets In My Family comes after the Welsh presenter told fans she would be back, with Matt Baker, on The One Show.
She said of her return to the BBC sofa: "Two days a week to begin with and we'll see how we go."

Alex said: "It's a fascinating series to be a part of.
"We've heard some very interesting and complex stories that will make for fantastic viewing."
The new documentary will uncover family history
The channel said: "The Secrets In My Family allows those kept apart by secrets to dig deeper into their family history using a pioneering DNA test... to uncover the truths behind their family mysteries.
"The series proves that with little information it is possible to uncover secret family members and solve long-held family mysteries, but the results do not always lead to the ending people hoped for."
