The crime series is nearing its conclusion but DI Alec Hardy (played by David Tennant) and DC Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman) appear to be nowhere near finding the perpetrator.
In a heartbreaking trailer for episode six, Trish (Julie Hesmondhalgh) calls her counsellor Beth Latimer (Jodie Whittaker) in the middle of the night.
"I feel like I'm sinking,” she tells her.
Beth tries to reassure her, saying: “Some days will be harder than others. You’re strong Trish.”

I hate myself. I don't want to be in my body.
"I hate myself. I don't want to be in my body, I don't want to be in my head," Trish responds.
Last night’s fifth instalment ended on a nail biting cliff-hanger as Trish’s ex-husband Ian (Charlie Higson) broke into her house.
Meanwhile, owner of the twine shop Leo Humphries (Chris Mason) was put firmly in the frame as he was seen wearing an identical football sock to the one recovered at the scene of the crime.

Elsewhere, Mark Latimer (Andrew Buchan) tracked down his son’s killer Joe Miller (Matthew Gravelle) working in Liverpool.
However, as Mark spied on Joe behind a container, fans guessed his cover might be blown quickly as he had driven up in a van with his name emblazoned on the side.
Broadchurch continues next Monday at 9pm on ITV.
