Coronation Street fans to be 'left devastated' as soap favourite is KILLED OFF
THERE'S set to be another shock death on the Coronation Street cobbles, with sources saying that upcoming scenes will leave viewers "utterly devastated".
Another Coronation Street favourite is set to be killed off
Fans of the show will see Maria Connor's (Samia Ghadie) beloved pet pooch Ozzy get killed off, with the actress previously admitting that the scenes were "some of the saddest she's ever filmed in her 17 years on the soap".
An insider explained: “It’s utterly devastating for Maria – and viewers. Ozzy has been by her side since 2007 when her then-husband Liam gave him to her as a present.
“When Liam was killed in a hit-and-run it was Ozzy who was her main source of comfort.
“His absence couldn’t come at a worse time with heartache already on the horizon now she’s tangled up in a love triangle with Aidan Connor and his girlfriend Eva Price,” they added to The Sun.

The news comes after Samia previously spoke out about filming the incredibly sad scenes.
"It’s been great fun filming, but this week I’ve been recording some of THE saddest scenes I’ve ever done in my 17 years at Corrie," she wrote in her column for OK! magazine.
"When I first read the scripts I was in tears so getting to film them has just sent me off. You may need your tissues when they air.
"And we say a sad goodbye to a well-loved member of the cast."
It was previously suggested that Samia was talking about her love interest Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward).
Things are set to get steamy between Aidan and Maria
Aidan is in a relationship with Eva Price
Aidan is set to spend a steamy night with Maria later this week, despite being in a relationship with Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley).
When asked about the dramatic storyline, Shayne commented: "What happened with Maria was a mistake and he starts getting panicky that Maria thinks it’s more than a one-night stand."
The actor continued: "It starts becoming awkward… he’s still got a partner and she’s not keeping it cool. Eva is a bunny boiler - I wouldn’t want to feel her wrath.
"I’m going to see how the public respond to this… in a way I want someone to heckle me as then I know I’m doing a good job."
Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
