The former Pussycat Dolls star has revealed that she "had every intention" of starring in the US version of the popular musical, but her contract was "never finalised".
The 37-year-old spoke out after the theatre legend, 68, lashed out at her, claiming she quit "a week before" rehearsals for the New York production in favour of appearing on The X Factor.
"I had every intention of doing Cats on Broadway but the contract was never finalised," Nicole said in a statement given to the Radio Times.
The brunette beauty continued: "I am incredibly blessed to be given so many amazing opportunities, including Cats, but unfortunately we weren't able to make it work this time around."
The singer said her contracts for the musical were never finalised
Nicole appeared on the panel for three series
Unfortunately, Nicole did not confirm whether or not she would be returning to the ITV show as a judge, a role she previously held for three seasons until 2014.
While no official announcement has been made, she is expected to be joining Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh on the panel.
Andrew admitted that he was "furious" at what Nicole had reportedly done after going "out on a limb" for her.

Andrew said he was furious with her for dropping out
Speaking to The Economist, the composer revealed: "I mean she's crazy but American producers just say, 'Ah well, we'll just get someone else, because she's not actually that well known in America.'"
Andrew added: "I'm furious because I really believe she's a really fantastically talented girl and I really went out on a limb to get her into the London Palladium here and it makes me look like an absolute t**t.
"But never mind, there will be another girl on Broadway and Nicole won't get her Tony Award."
