‘Disgrace!’ BAFTA Television Awards viewers outraged as Alan Rickman’s absent from tribute
TONIGHT’S BAFTA Television Awards paid tribute to the tragically high number of stars to have passed away over the past 12 months, but viewers have hit out at the ceremony for seemingly forgetting the late Alan Rickman.
BAFTA viewers outraged as Alan Rickman's 'snubbed' from tributes
The Die Hard actor lost his private battle with cancer in January, and was famed as one of Britain’s most celebrated stars.
However, during tonight’s commemorative segment, which recognised likes of Victoria Wood and Cilla Black, Alan’s name was noticeably absent.
Viewers were appalled with the “snub” and bombarded Twitter with complaints.
“Where was Alan Rickman’s tribute?” asked one audience member, as another added: “Erm, excuse me #BAFTATV. Where was your tribute to Alan Rickman?”

Why wasn't Alan Rickman mentioned at the BAFTAs? Disgraceful
This disgruntled fan commented: “Just noticed that Alan Rickman wasn't in the memorial video. Seems a bit iffy, that,” which was followed by: “Am I the only one that is confused that BAFTA didn't show Alan Rickman as one of those we've lost?”
A fifth barked: “Why wasn't Alan Rickman mentioned at the BAFTAs? Disgraceful.”
However, one more noted: “Miss him as I do, I'd struggle to think of any TELLY done by Alan Rickman.”

While Alan was undoubtedly best known for string of iconic roles on the big screen, he won an Emmy Award for the television movie Rasputin, as well as starring in Something The Lord Made and We Know Where You Live.
Express.co.uk has reached out to a BAFTFA spokesperson who explained the actor was recognised during February's Film Awards.
In addition, their website reads: “Due to the number of people we would like to recognise at any one time and the limited time in which we have to do so, individuals may be featured in a television broadcast only once.”
Tonight’s ceremony saw the like of Wolf Hall, EastEnders and The Great British Bake Off all pick up well-deserved statuettes, while many stars came forward to defend the BBC over comments made by John Whittingdale this week.
