Alison Hammond forced to sell home as she admits 'I'd never feel safe again'
The This Morning presenter shared that she felt 'violated'.
Presenter Alison Hammond has opened up on how a stranger once broke into her home, which she shared with her son, and "left a knife" behind. She was at the helm of ITV's This Morning with co-star Dermot O'Leary when she reflected on a time that left her feeling "violated" and "unsafe".
The topic of discussion was how 92% of burglaries went unsolved last year. That was when Alison chimed in with her own experience of having someone "violating" her home. She said: "It's a massive violation. I can remember my very first house that I got. I put so much love into making it a home and everything. It was the first house that I bought with me and Aiden. I hadn't moved in exactly, straight away, but I had all of my carpets done and everything. I can remember someone coming through the window and they left a knife in the living room, and they left footprints going up the stairs and throughout the house. There were footprints all over my brand new carpet."

She heartbreakingly continued: "And do you know, it put me off that house. I never felt happy there and I would never feel safe there again. It made me want to get rid of the house.
"I didn't at first, but then eventually after about a year, I got rid of it. I was never there and the neighbours let me know that someone had been in the house. But I never felt the same about it.
"I loved that house so much but I never felt safe in there."
Alison now keeps where she lives a bit more tight-lipped, but it is believed she now lives closer to London as opposed to her home city of Birmingham.
However, she has shown off her luxurious abode and its countryside gardens on Instagram.
And recently, while on an Instagram Live, she revealed that she has been having problems with her boiler.
She shared: "My house is absolutely freezing. My heating's broken. Nobody knows the real life that I'm leading. I'm literally freezing. I've got like literally thermals on.
“And I’m putting your cream on, which is also freezing, because my house is freezing.”
