Fans of Donald Trump seemed to lose confidence in the US President after he went on a strange rant live on air. A speech that he made at the NRCC annual fundraising dinner in Washington DC on March 25 was aired across several broadcasters as viewers took to social media to discuss his words.

He spoke about the ongoing conflict with Iran as he said: "I've never seen anything like we're doing in the Middle East with Iran. And they are negotiating, by the way, and want to make a deal so badly but are afraid to say it because I figured that they would be killed by their own people. They were also afraid they'd be killed by us. We've never been ahead of a country that wanted that job less than being the head of Iran. We hear them very clearly. 'I don't want it. If you'd like to make me the next Supreme Leader, no thank you. I don't want it.'" Fans were baffled by the 79-year-old politician's words.

One reshared the clip as they captioned it: "THIS IS HILARIOUS. 'Iran wanted to make me their Supreme leader but I refused and said no thanks' - Donald Trump. He has totally lost it."

"We should just let him play with his toys. He is like a toddler now. He says things that makes no sense," another added.

While a third penned: "Wait, Iran wanted to crown Trump as Supreme Leader and he said no thanks? This is next-level delusion. Dude’s speeches are getting wilder by the day."

The criticism follows recent health concerns as fans believe that the President is "declining".

At one point in his rambings, he said that he would be calling the conflict a "military operation" as "people don't like me using the word war, so I won't."

He added: "The Democrats will call it war," with a dig at his opposition. But then, just moments later, the President backtracked on not using the word as he declared: "We have won the war. This war has been won. The only ones that like to keep it going is the fake news."

The clip raised concerns as one person wrote: "Just look at Trump’s body language, man. His face is all droopy, his shoulders are slumped, his ego is completely shattered because he never saw this coming.

"He looks scared, totally checked out, and mentally defeated. Maybe for the first time in his life he actually got a real wake-up call: not everybody and not every country just rolls over when he wants them to.

"S*** doesn’t always go exactly the way he wants. He clearly underestimated Iran, and deep down he probably knows this was one of the biggest mistakes he’s ever made."
