ITV Masked Singer fans 'work out' Christmas star's identity

Fans of The Masked Singer UK reckon they've already cracked the code on one of this year's mystery performers.

The cherished ITV show is gearing up for its return with a complete series in the coming weeks, though a Christmas special will grace our screens much earlier.

Four celebrity contestants will grace the stage concealed behind elaborate disguises, donning the personas of Santa's Sack, Mistletoe, a Goose A-Laying, and Figgy Pudding.

Whilst audiences endeavour to decipher the identities through cryptic clues, panellists Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama, Davina McCall, and Mo Gilligan will similarly attempt to decode the hints, with Joel Dommett reprising his hosting duties.

The yuletide episode broadcasts on December 26, with sneak-peek photographs released just hours ago, and supporters believe they've already sussed out Goose's true identity, reports Wales Online.

Heading to Reddit to share their speculation, enthusiasts suspect the famous face beneath the costume is one of The Chase's quiz masters.

One viewer posted: "Goose a laying is so random, but as it's normally 6 geese, I wonder if it's someone known for being in a group of 6. Maybe like a band, a Chaser (probably Jenny) or one of the friends cast (probably Lisa)."

Another responded: "I reckon it's a Chaser maybe Jenny Ryan."

The initial contributor added: "Jenny is the most likely, and weirdly I can see her wearing the Goose outfit idk why I just see it."

Jenny previously left audiences stunned with her remarkable singing abilities during her stint on X Factor: Celebrity back in 2019.

She performed a rendition of Queen's Somebody to Love, prompting Louis Walsh to remark: "Wow Jenny, where did all that come from? You've got a great voice."

Nicole Scherzinger chimed in: "Jenny, you were like, 'I don't really care y'all... Welcome to my back garden.'

"To know that you're like a human encyclopaedia or whatever – when you opened your face hole and that came out, I was like, 'Yeah!'"

Earlier this month, Jenny received an outpouring of encouragement following another professional announcement, prior to taking on the role of Wicked Fairy Carabosse in a pantomime production.

One supporter wrote: "Good luck for tonight and for the rest of the panto season", whilst another proclaimed: "We saw you on Saturday. Such a great show and you are an amazing singer xx". A further admirer declared: "You were BRILLIANT."

The Masked Singer UK Christmas special will also showcase an array of pantomime legends, including Fairy Godmother (Su Pollard), the dame (Christopher Biggins), Wicked Stepmother (Lesley Joseph) and Prince Charming (Basil Brush), who will be providing hints for the judging panel.
