BBC's Strictly Come Dancing in chaos as major star pulls out and says 'what upsets' them
In a surprising twist, BBC One's dance floor loses a vibrant star as La Voix bows out, leaving fans and fellow dancers in a whirl of emotions.

BBC bosses have announced that La Voix will not be returning to the BBC One dance competition leaving viewers at home completely stunned. She had to withdraw this week due to a foot injury, but there was much hope that she would rejoin next week. Unfortunately, the 45-year-old drag artist, partnered with Aljaz Skorjanec, will not be returning at all for the remainder of the series, which has been plagued by injury.
The update was shared at the start of tonight’s live show in Blackpool, where host Tess Daly informed viewers: “We can confirm she has very sadly had to withdraw from the competition.”
Daly later confirmed that there would be no elimination this week and, therefore, no dance-off. Meanwhile, fellow presenter Claudia Winkleman said: “We will be speaking to La Voix on tomorrow night’s show, we love you so, so much.”
Strictly Come Dancing kicked off its special Blackpool week with the remaining contestants competing at the prestigious Tower Ballroom. After appearing in the audience looking glum, La Voix, has shared she is "devastated" to be withdrawing from the show.
In a social media post, she said that after doing everything possible, her injury hasn’t improved as expected. "With the guidance of the medical team and a heavy, heavy heart I have to officially withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing. What upsets me most is feeling like I’ve let my wonderful partner, Aljaž Škorjanec, down."
La Voix revealed that Aljaž has supported her all the way and believed in her from the very beginning. "I’m devastated not to be able to continue the adventure with him, but I’m endlessly grateful for everything he’s given me throughout this experience," she finished.
La Voix, real name Christopher Dennis, had previously said that she was “devastated” by news of the injury, adding: “I’ve been advised that I’m unable to perform, and my heart truly breaks knowing I won’t be dancing in such an iconic venue.”
A Strictly spokesperson had previously confirmed that La Voix would have automatically made it through to the next round of the BBC competition had she been fit enough to continue.
