The Girlfriend, a gripping thriller, is set to land on Prime Video soon. The plot revolves around a successful wife and mother whose life takes a dramatic turn when her son introduces his new partner.
The series focuses on Laura, a woman who enjoys a thriving career and a loving family, including her son Daniel.
However, Laura's idyllic life begins to crumble when Daniel brings home Cherry, his new girlfriend, who disrupts the family's harmony.
Following an uneasy first meeting, Laura becomes convinced that Cherry is concealing something and has ulterior motives.

The Girlfriend will be available on Prime Video from 10 September, with all episodes released simultaneously.

Who stars in The Girlfriend?
The cast of The Girlfriend includes Robin Wright as Laura. The 59 year old actress is renowned for her roles in Forrest Gump and House of Cards.
Olivia Cooke portrays Cherry. The 31 year old star is recognised for her role as Alicent Hightower in House of the Dragon, as well as Emma Decody in the thriller Bates Motel.
Laurie Davidson plays Daniel. The 33 year old actor is known for his portrayal of a young William Shakespeare in the 2017 TNT television series Will, and Mr Mistoffelees in Cats, based on Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical.
Waleed Zuaiter portrays Laura's spouse Howard, with the 54 year old performer serving as producer and co-star of Omar, which received an Oscar nomination at the 86th Academy Awards.
Tanya Moodie appears as Laura's closest friend Isabella, and the 53 year old performer is recognised for her parts in Motherland and Silo.
Shalom Brune-Franklin takes on the role of Isabella's daughter Brigitte, with the actress having recently appeared in Prime Video's The Assassin.
Additional cast members include Karen Henthorn as Cherry's mother Tracey and Anna Chancellor as Lilith, one of Laura's intimate friends.

The programme consists of six episodes, with all six accessible to view consecutively.
The opening episode witnesses Daniel revealing to his mother details about a special girl he has encountered, but when Laura discovers Cherry being dishonest, she becomes instantly suspicious.
