Lorraine jokes as UK's sexiest politicians revealed

Lorraine Kelly joked she would be "taken off air" after taking a savage swipe at Nigel Farage after the politician was named UK's sexiest MP.

The chat show host, 64, returned to our TV screen on Thursday (June 19). She presented the day's top stories and welcomed several guests.

However, it was one segment that took Lorriane by surprise as the list of the UK’s ‘sexiest politicians’ was revealed. Joined by entertainment editors Lucie Cave and Paul brand, Lorriane wasted no time making a dig as she said: “Now I have to say, it is a low bar. slim pickings.”

The survey by IllicitEncounters.com, a dating site for married individuals, put Nigel in the top spot for the second year running. The Reform UK leader managed to hold onto his crown.

Sharing the news with Lorraine, Paul revealed: “In third place is James Cleverly from the conservative party, and in second place is Robert Jenrick, who is also Conservative. He has lost a lot of weight recently, and he is very popular on social media.”

Announcing the top spot, he continued: “And in first place, taking the gold is Nigel Farage.” Lorraine didn’t hold back as she replied: “Oh no. There is so much I want to say, but I'll get taken off air.”

She added, “Like I said, slim pickings because everyone always says politics is entertainment for ugly people.” She clarified: “Which is rude and it’s not me saying that, that is generally what people say, is it not?”

Paul replied: “I’m not getting involved in that. You can stick to that yourself.” Lorraine added: “That’s what people say.”

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner topped the women’s list after coming fifth in 2024, beating Reform UK’s Sarah Pochin and Suella Braverman.

The Conservative Party was named as the sexiest overall, with 33 percent of the vote.

Labour followed closely behind with 31.5 percent and Reform UK with 27.5 percent. But Prime Minister Keir Starmer saw a steep decline in votes, falling from third place in 2024 to ninth in this year’s rankings.

Jessica Leoni, sex and relationships expert at IllicitEncounters.com said: “Farage has proved once again he’s the political equivalent of that leather jacket in your wardrobe – slightly controversial, impossible to get rid of, and somehow still looking good after all these years.

“In politics, power is an aphrodisiac – and our members are never shy about telling us who gets their hearts racing. This year’s results show that confidence, conviction, and a little controversy remain irresistible traits.”

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV and ITVX
