This Morning: Dermot pays tribute to Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek
This Morning paid tribute to Fiongal Greenlaw who is believed to have been on board the Air India plane that crashed on Thursday (June 12). Fiongal, 39, and his spouse Jamie Meek, 45, known for co-founding a wellness brand featured on the show, had enjoyed a holiday in India before getting on the ill-fated flight, headed for London Gatwick. The wellness guru appeared on This Morning back in January alongside Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard. During Friday's (June 13) instalment of This Morning, presenters Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond paid tribute to the star.
Dermot began: "We are starting today with the tragic flight disaster dominating the news this morning." Alison continued: "The Air India flight which was bound for London Gatwick crashed in Western India shortly after takeoff." The former X Factor presenter recalled Fiongal's recent appearance on This Morning, praising the energy he brought into the studio during his wellness segments.

"Sadly one of those who is believed to have lost his life is Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek. Fiongal appeared on This Morning twice this year. We loved his energy that he brought to the studio," Dermot said. "Fiongal was on board the plane with his husband, Jamie. The couple posted videos online about their flight just before boarding.
"Our thoughts and our prayers go to their loved ones after this terrible tragedy," Dermot concluded.
During Fiongal's appearance on This Morning back in January, he provided hosts Ben and Cat with a reading of their auras. He returned for another segment before being invited back once again as a spiritual advisor in April.
242 people were on board the Air India jet, including 53 Brits, when it crashed shortly after taking off from the airport in Ahmedabad. It was originally reported that everyone on board had lost their life, however, it was later confirmed that one British passenger miraculously survived the crash.

The passenger, named as British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, was in India for a few days to visit his family and was going back to the UK along with his brother, Ajay Kumar Ramesh.
Mr Ramesh, 40, told the Hindustan Times: "Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly." He also said he had sustained "impact injuries" on his chest, eyes and feet.
"When I got up, there were bodies all around me," he recounted. "I was scared. I stood up and ran. There were pieces of the plane all around me.
"Someone grabbed hold of me and put me in an ambulance and brought me to hospital." Mr Ramesh was sat in seat 11A of the doomed flight.
