One item was left on the shelf as a show expert was forced to say no to it on BBC's Celebrity Antiques Road Trip. Gavin and Stacey's Joanna Page went head to head with opera singer and former Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans as they competed to find the best antique bargains, while sticking to a budget.

As always, as they rummages in vintage shops around south Wales, their aim was to find valuable items at a cheaper price, before selling them on at auction hoping to make a profit. Experts Roo Irvine and Irita Marriott were on hand to deliver their professional knowledge, helping them to bag the best items.

Roo was giving Joanna a hand, when she came across an exquisite item. She said: "This is the nicest Tiffany lamp I have ever seen." She hastily added: "Not an orignal Tiffany lamp, because it could be millions of pounds, but Tiffany style. Look at it!"

However, Joanna was not impressed at all as she said: "Well it is beautiful, but I do have to say it sort of creeps me out a bit." Roo's hands flew to cover her mouth in shock as she asked why.

The Welsh actress replied: "Because, oh my goodness, that is sort of just like half-alien and half-spider's face." The expert suddenly saw Joanne's vision as she gasped: "Oh yes! With the multiple eyes. Oh you have put me right off it now."

The pair shuddered as they continued to stand and admire the intricate item, which had a whopping price tag of £950. Noticing the cost, Roo explained that she thought it was worth it, saying: "I think for £950 you would get that in a heartbeat."

"Really?" Joanna asked, to which the professional replied with the bad news: "Oh yes. But it is too much, we don't have that much." With that, the actress turned on her heel as she said: "Come on! Let's go. You cannot have it," as they only had £315 in their pocket.

According to Antique Trader, the highest price ever paid for a Tiffany lamp was at Christie’s auction in 1997 for a staggering $2.8 million (£2.1 million).

The iconic stained glass lamps, lamp shades, lights and window panels were created by soldering together small pieces of colored glass to produce enchanting and individual objects - all hand crafted by Tiffany & Co in the style of Louis Comfort Tiffany. Genuine Tiffany lamps were made between 1890 and 1930.
