Calling all fans of The Traitors – your newest obsession might be about to land on Netflix.

Since it first aired in 2022, The Traitors has hooked millions of fans. As more people tuned in for each of the three series, the show became one of the most-watched British reality gameshows of all time.

Following the success of the BBC hit, Netflix is set to air a series this week that bears some similarities to the hit murder mystery show. Million Dollar Secret drops on Wednesday (March 26th), and sees 12 strangers enter a fancy lakeside estate with one million dollars on the line.

When they enter the villa, each contestant is given a box. Eleven of the boxes are empty, but one contains a million dollars. If the lucky contestant can keep their identity hidden for the duration of the show, they'll win the cash – but they'll have to lie and deceive their fellow contestants along the way.

To advertise the show, Netflix recently shared a trailer on X – and people have all been saying the same thing.

Alongside the trailer, the Netflix account asked fans: "If you won a million dollars, would there be signs?"

It didn't take long for people to respond with what they'd spend the money on if given the chance. And the overwhelming response was that people would fund a fourth season of another Netflix hit – Heartstopper.

One person said: "Yeah I'd be producing Heartstopper S4 myself because you're taking so long to renew it."

Another added: "Yes, I would pay for a Heartstopper S4 since you seem to be completely ignoring it."

A third also wrote: "Yes, and the sign would be me comfortably watching Heartstopper season 4 while someone from Netflix counts their new million dollars."

Heartstopper is a British coming-of-age romantic comedy series that follows the story of Charlie Spring (played by Joe Locke), a gay teen boy who falls in love with his classmate Nick Nelson (Kit Connor).

The show currently has three seasons, with the latest released in October last year. However, it has not yet been renewed for a fourth season despite being among the top 10 most-watched English-language series on Netflix, leaving many fans hanging in the balance.

Heartstopper wasn't the only show that people said they'd pay a million to see more of. Some said they would use the money to fund the revival of Shadow and Bone, which was cancelled in 2023 after two seasons.

Others were much more sensible, stating they'd use some of the funds to pay off their mortgage or buy themselves their first property.

BBC News described Million Dollar Secret as "Netflix's answer to The Traitors". After a sneak preview of the series, the network said there are "a lot of parallels" - including awkward group meals and tearful revelations about why the money would change each contestant's life.

Million Dollar Secret drops on Netflix on March 26th.
