Oscars 2025 fans swoon as new Bond girl 'unveiled' in special tribute
The next Bond girl was 'revealed' as stars took to the stage for a special performance during Sunday night's 97th Academy Awards.
Fans were convinced that a subtle announcement was made at the 2025 Oscars. During Sunday night's 97th Academy Awards, several female stars took to the stage to perform popular numbers from the Bond film franchise, including Sky Fall and the original James Bond theme tune.
Among them were LISA and Margaret Qualley - with one in particular capturing the essence of "the next Bond girl". As fans at home sat back and enjoyed the show, others could not help but speculate that there was a hidden message within the performance. They all thought that the next Bond girl had been "confirmed".

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one viewer wrote: "Ok but when the whole point of this was to foreshadow Margaret Qualley as the next Bond girl !! Yup yup yup #oscars."
Another added: "Was that Margaret Qualley’s audition for next Bond Girl? #Oscars," while a third echoed: "Genuinely thought we were gonna get the next Bond reveal then. But can we please get Margaret Qualley as the next Bond girl. Feel like she’d be fantastic #Oscars."
"Low key, was that a soft launch for Margaret Qualley to be the next Bond girl? #Oscars," someone else thought.
Before this evening's awards show, reports suggested that Michelle Keegan could be a strong contender to become the next Bond Girl while Love Island host Maya Jama was also a strong bookie favourite.

Whoever is next to step into the sexy shoes will follow in the footsteps of actors like Ursula Andress, Michelle Yeo and Halle Berry. In recent years the likes of St. Trinian’s star Gemma Arterton and Léa Seydoux, have played the lead’s trusty companion.
This comes as British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson is reportedly in talks to sign a contract of the next four films.
The 33-year-old is set to replace Daniel Craig who has starred as the lead since 2006 after appearing in Casino Royale. With all the talk looming around the caste, it is believed that the Bond 26 title release date will be announced later this year.
Coral’s John Hill said: 'Many punters believe Michelle Keegan will join Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the next Bond film as the female lead.”
He added: “The Fool Me Once star is now odds-on in our betting to be involved. But we have also seen some outside support for Maya Jama. The Love Island presenter has had her odds slashed in half to be the female lead.”
